The Swiftwater is a 100-key luxury boutique hotel in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, conceived as a contemporary luxury chalet and château-inspired retreat where architecture, interiors, engineering, and the surrounding landscape are integrated into a cohesive hospitality experience. The property combines guestrooms and suites with elevated dining, wellness, recreation, and gathering spaces, including private plunge-pool suites, an indoor/outdoor pool, concierge-level accommodations, and The Olivet restaurant and lounge.
The architectural character was developed to complement the existing Desaki Restaurant on the site while establishing The Swiftwater as a distinct destination. The design draws from the warmth, scale, and material richness of a refined mountain chalet and European château, expressed through wood-look finishes, natural textures, substantial architectural detailing, and carefully composed interior and exterior elements. The project was developed through a coordinated multidisciplinary approach integrating architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and interior design considerations. Particular attention was given to materiality, lighting, proportion, detailing, building systems, and framed views, with each space designed to create memorable visual moments while supporting guest comfort, durability, operational efficiency, and long-term building performance.
